Terms of Service
The agreement between you and ZeroWrite.ai. Written plainly, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.
LAST UPDATED — 4 AUGUST 2026
1. Agreement
By downloading, installing, or using ZeroWrite, you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have the authority to bind it.
2. Licence to use the software
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use ZeroWrite on the number of machines your plan allows. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute it, and you may not remove or circumvent its licensing or update-verification mechanisms.
Reverse engineering is permitted only to the extent that applicable law allows it regardless of contract — for example, security research conducted under our vulnerability disclosure policy.
3. Plans, trials, and seats
- Trial. A 14-day full-feature trial starts on first run. No licence key and no payment card are required.
- Personal. Free for use by an individual on their own machine, for non-commercial purposes.
- Paid plans. Billed per device on a recurring basis through Stripe. Each licence permits activation on a set number of machines; you can free a seat by deactivating an installation.
Using the free Personal tier to protect machines owned or operated by a business requires a paid licence.
4. Billing and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the billing portal; your licence remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not prorate partial periods. If a payment fails, we will retry and notify you before the licence lapses.
If ZeroWrite does not work for you, contact support@zerowrite.ai within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it.
5. What happens when a licence lapses
We consider it unethical to switch off protection because a card expired. On lapse, after the grace period:
- The pre-execution engine keeps protecting you with the rule pack it already has.
- Rule-pack updates, new versions, and support stop.
- The application shows a clear, persistent notice that the subscription has lapsed.
After a long lapse the application may reduce to on-demand scanning. It will never silently uninstall itself or stop protecting you without telling you.
6. Your responsibilities
- Keep your account credentials and licence key confidential.
- Do not use ZeroWrite to develop, test, or distribute malware.
- Do not attempt to disrupt the service for other users.
- Comply with the export and sanctions laws that apply to you.
7. No guarantee of detection
No security product stops every threat, and ZeroWrite does not claim to. It reduces risk; it does not eliminate it. You remain responsible for maintaining backups, applying operating-system and application updates, and operating with least privilege. ZeroWrite is one layer, not a complete security programme.
8. Warranty disclaimer
The software is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using ZeroWrite and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms — with notice and an opportunity to fix the problem, unless the breach is one that makes notice inappropriate, such as using the product to distribute malware.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes affecting an active subscription we will give reasonable notice by email before they take effect. Continuing to use ZeroWrite after that means you accept the revised terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ZeroWrite.ai is established, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
